meshO Control

The radio control that relays every punch.

Clip it beside the SportIdent unit at any control. It hears the punch, joins the mesh with the radios around it, and passes the punch on to the arena — without mobile coverage.

Live without coverage

Punches travel radio to radio across the course to meshO Prime. No mobile signal or Wi-Fi needed.

A full day and more

At least 24 hours of continuous running. Charges overnight in the 20-bay case.

How it works

From the punch to the arena

  1. 1

    It hears the punch

A SIAC punching in the air, or a BSF8-SRR unit, sends a short-range radio message. meshO Control picks it up.

  2. 2

    The mesh carries it

The punch passes radio to radio until it reaches meshO Prime. If a path drops, the mesh finds another.

  3. 3

    The arena sees it

meshO Prime hands it to your event software over USB — screens, commentary and live results update.

FAQ

Questions organisers ask

Do I need meshO Manager?
No. meshO Prime sends punches to MeOS, OE, O-Lynx, SI Timing or meshO Manager. meshO Manager is free if you want it.
Which punches does it pick up?
SRR radio punches from SIAC cards and BSF8-SRR units. Any SportIdent unit in beacon (AIR+) mode works, BS11 included, because the SIAC sends the punch. To catch punches from older SI-Cards too, put a BSF8-SRR unit at the control. See the compatibility chart.
What do I change on my SportIdent units?
Set each control to “send last record” in SportIdent Config+ (“Send the last punch” under AIR+ radio in meshO Manager). Turning it on everywhere lets you add a radio at any control on the day.
Will it run competitors’ SIAC batteries flat?
No — about 0.2% of a SIAC’s battery life where radios are listening. Read how we worked it out.
What if a radio loses the network?
meshO tries to recover and resend. A punch can still be missed — some are never transmitted by the card — and every gap is filled in when the competitor downloads.
How many do I need?
Start with the finish and the control before it, then pivots and one or two mid-course. Clustered radios build a stronger network. We’ll size it with you when you ask for a quote.
